Ingredients for Pesto

Let’s get right to it… You have a ton of leftover or extra basil from your harvest this summer and need a way to use it all before the first frost. Well lucky for you pesto is easy to make, delicious and goes well with anything from pasta, to crackers and fish or even chicken. My mom shared this recipe with me after I complained to her about having “too much” fresh basil…like that’s a real problem. Anyway, that’s when she volunteered this fantastic quick and easy recipe for pesto!

Memorial Day and the Kickoff to Summer!

Tzatziki, pronounced zɑːdˈzki, is a Greek sauce used as an appetizer or sometimes served over meat. In my opinion Tzatziki is one of the healthier appetizer choices because it has fresh ingredients and less calories than most popular dips ;-). This weekend I’m entertaining friends for the Memorial Day holiday and I wanted to incorporate this delicious Greek sauce into the menu. The original recipe for Tzatziki is simple and flavorful, but I wanted to add a little spice for distinction. The  best thing is that you can put this on meat, salads or  just dip into it with a tortilla chip or pita bread.
